Round-Up and Happy Canyon in Pendleton

This page repeats only what the Pendleton Round-Up's own website says. For tickets, dates and rules, use that site.

The Pendleton Round-Up

The Round-Up's site describes a week-long event in Pendleton, Oregon. Its stated vision is "to be the premier celebration of western heritage, rodeo excellence, volunteerism and community spirit." The rodeo is the centerpiece, supported by parades, concerts and the Happy Canyon night show. The site says the first Round-Up was held September 29, 1910, and credits thousands of volunteers, a board of directors and staff for putting it on. The Round-Up office is at 1330 SW Court Ave., Pendleton.

For 2026 the site listed the Round-Up as running Wednesday, September 16, through Saturday, September 19. Future dates are on its own schedule page, so we do not copy them here.

Happy Canyon

The Round-Up's Happy Canyon page calls it "the Night Show of the Pendleton Round-Up," an outdoor pageant and wild west show depicting the settling of the American West, entertaining audiences since 1916. The page adds that the Oregon Legislature declared it the state's official outdoor pageant and wild west show in 2013, and the Round-Up's main page describes it as an all-volunteer show. The Round-Up's pages give the show's start as 1914 in one place and 1916 in another, so we do not state a founding year.
